Eastern Orthodox and Mennonites

Location- Today, large groups of Mennonites can be found in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Kansas. Eastern Orthodox people can be found in- North-eastern Europe and Northern Asia- but there is also this religion in North America and numerous other places. The leaders of the Eastern Orthodox- Some leaders are Michael Harper. He led a movement in Britain. The leaders of the Mennonites-John Wycliffe and John Huss, and Mennon Simons were some leaders. Two sacred times of the year for the Eastern Orthodox- Advent and Christmas One sacred times of the year for the Mennonites-New Years The history of the Eastern Orthodox- The beginning of the world-creation. Eastern Orthodoxy arose as a distinct branch of Christianity after the 11th-century "Great Schism" between Eastern and Western Christendom. The history of Mennonites-Mennonites are a branch of the Christian church, with roots in the wing of the 16th century Protestant Reformation. The tenets that the Mennonites live by- Obedience and Yielding to God. The tenets that the Eastern Orthodox live by- the Ten Commandments. Total numbers in Eastern Orthodox-150 million. Total numbers in Mennonites-1.5 million. Numbers in all of Christianity- approximately 2 billion. Mennonites believe that heaven is the final resting place of the righteous, where they will abide in the fullness of joy with God and the holy angels forever. Eastern Orthodox believe that Heaven is where you go. When you die, God judges you, and will sentence you either to either happiness after death or unhappiness. There was Eastern and Western Christianity. Eastern Orthodoxy developed from Eastern Christianity, and Anabaptism, which is very similar to Mennonites, developed from Western Christianity. Old Christianity split into Eastern and Western Christianity because there was never one single set of beliefs anyways, and this cause a schism, which divided old Christianity. The two religions share common Christian beliefs. They aren't at war with each other. Mennonites believe that there will be an end of the world, but all will have a chance to survive. Eastern Orthodoxy believe the same thing.
